Donkin, A.T., Sgt, 1942
In Knightsbridge War Cemetery, Acroma, Libya, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1055285 Sergeant (Pilot) Alexander Tait Donkin, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 08/02/1942.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:
Sgt. Donkin was killed in Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk Ia AK652 GA-D of 112 Squadron, which was lost on a mission escorting Blenheim bombers sent to bomb Derna. It is thought he may have been shot down by the Luftwaffe ace Hans-Joachim Marseille of JG27 at 14.30.

Sgt. Donkin was from the family of bakers in the town.
