Local Hero's wedding.
At Newcastle Registry Office, yesterday, the wedding of Private Horace Hardy, D.C.M., 6th K.O.S.B. and Miss Belle Stark, of Tweedmouth, took place. Private Hardy, who gained the D.C.M. at Loos last September, for conspicuous bravery under machine-gun fire, was footman at Jesmond Dene House, Newcastle, before joining the army nearly seven years ago, The bride was attended by Miss S. Simpson as bridesmaid and the best man was Mr. W. Lewis.
