On Lowestoft Naval Memorial is the name of LT/JX 225078 Seaman Adam Albert Wharton, serving with the Royal Naval Patrol Service who died 15/06/1942.

In Norham St. Cuthbert's Churchyard is a family headstone for Wharton which reads:

who died 19th August 2011 aged 81.
