On the memorial at Carham: J. Brown

In Wytschaete Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 65405 Sapper Adam Scott, serving with the Royal Engineers who died 22/05/1916.

In Norham St. Cuthbert's Churchyard is a family headstone for Scott which reads:

In
loving memory
of
James ?Denholm
son of William and Rachel Scott
who died at Horncliffe Mains
Decr. 21st 1888 aged 1 year.
God gave him at first and we valued the boon
Little we thought he would take him so soon
God gave him and took him the time he thought best
Therefore we ? ? to the past.
In loving memory of Adam, 4th
son of the above who was killed
in Belgium on the 22nd May
1916, and was buried at Kemmel,
aged 29 years.
also Robert, 2nd son of the above
who departed this life on July 5th
1918 aged 37 years.
Oh for the touch of their vanished hands
and the sound of their voices that are still.
also the above William
who died at Heaton
Newcastle on Tyne
Jany. 9th 1932 aged 81 years
also the above Rachel
who died at Heaton
Feby. 23rd 1935 aged 83 years.

On the memorial at Carham in 2016 a wreath was laid which carried the message:

In Memory of Sapper Adam Scott of Mindrum
who was killed in Belgium, 22nd May 1916
Also remembering his family and his Welsh
fiancée, Olwyn Mary Robert, who were left to ...
After one hundred years, members of both families
think of Adam and Ollie.
