In Crevecoeur-sur-L’Escaut Communal Cemetery, near Cambrai, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 563613 Sergeant David Borthwick, serving with the Royal Air Force who died 16/05/1940.

Simon Glancey has submitted he following:

Sgt. Borthwick was the Observer aboard Bristol Blenheim IV L9254 of 18 Squadron, which was shot down on a reconnaissance mission, with the loss of all the crew members.

He is remembered in Berwick on B25.12 and B25.35
