In Berwick upon Tweed Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 290260 Serjeant James Dawson, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 31/10/1918.

The headstone reads:

Sert. James Dawson, N.F.
beloved son of
James and Rosanna Dawson
wounded at Gummecourt 6th May
died in hospital at Richmond
Surrey 31st Oct. 1918.
aged 25 years & 11 months.
Rosanna D. Borthwick
beloved wife of
James Dawson
who died 25th Octr. 1932
aged 75 years.
Also the above
James Dawson
who died 19th Decr. 1935
aged 79 years.
Also of Jessie Hattle
their second daughter,
who died 4th Sept. 1941
aged 52 years
Also Annie, wife of the late
T. Rivett, died 30th Jany. 1968
Also Rosabella Dawson
who died 10th Jany. 1996
Aged 9 years.
