In Caudry Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 11295 Private George Aitken Dickson,serving with the 'D' Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Scots who died 24/11/1914.

George Aitken Dickson was born on the 11th March 1895, at North Berwick, the son of the late Willam Dickson Carter, and his wife Christina (13 Melbourne Place, North Berwick) daughter of George Aitken.

George was educated at Public Schools in Berwick. He enlisted on the 6th November 1912 and is supposed to have been killed in action during the retreat from Mons. Official letters stated the date as 24th November 1914, though a private letter stated 26th August 1914.
