In Tweedmouth Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 2318896 Signalman Alexander Calder Renton serving with the 2nd Division Signals, Royal Corps of Signals who died 24/12/1940.

The family headstone reads:

In loving memory of Alexander (Corder)
dearly beloved son of Joseph & Mary Renton
who died in Driffield 24th Dec. 1940 aged 28 years.
Also of the above Joseph Renton
who died 1st Sept. 1950, in his 72nd year.
Also of the above Mary Renton
who died 22nd May 1952, in her 72nd year.
Also of their daughter Elizabeth Hogg,
who died 13th June 1971, aged 85 years.
beloved wife of William Bruce, who died 27th Decr. 1980 aged 70 years.

The headstone gives his middle name as 'Corder', but the CWGC has 'Calder'.

He is remembered in Berwick on B25.43
