In Bethune Town Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of S/6669 Private W.A. Spiden, serving with the Seaforth Highlanders who died 13/05/1916.

In Berwick upon Tweed Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

Our dear
Father and Mother
David and Helen
Spiden
Died 28th Dec. 1938
And
19th Nov. 1944
Also their two sons
James died 22nd Jan. 1911
William died of wounds
13th May 1916
Also their daughter
Margaret Christie
Died at Edinburgh
8th Jan. 1967
Aged 78 years.
