On the Vimy Memorial is the name of 130017 Lance Corporal Alexander Marshall, serving with the Canadian Infantry who died 14/11/1916.

In Berwick upon Tweed Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

Loving Memory
of
James Marshall, farmer
formerly of South Falaknowe,
Coldingham
who died at Cumberland Bower,
Berwick,
on the 27th October 1888,
aged 45 years.
Also of Margaret Sanderson
widow of the above,
who died at Berwick, on the
14th Jany. 1939, aged 94 years.
Also of Isabella, his daughter
who died at South Falaknowe,
on 17th June 1875, aged 2 years.
Also Alexander Marshall,
his youngest son
who was killed in action in France
on the 14th November 1916,aged 34 years.
Also Jane Ross Marshall,
his daughter, aged 62 years.
and Margaret A. Marshall,
her niece, aged 8 years,
who met their death through a motor
accident at Berwick-on-Tweed,
on the 14th July 1923.
also William James Marshall, his son
who died 31st August 1952
aged ?? years.
