Rogers, R.D., A/Smn., 1918
In Grevillers British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of R/3966 Able Seaman Reginald David Rogers, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 19/10/1918.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Reginald was born on 26th November 1897. He was living with his parents, David and Sarah at The Post Office, Belford, Northumberland when he enlisted in the Army Reserve on 11th December 1915.

He was embodied on 25th June 1917 and joined the Nelson Battalion in France on 13th November 1917. He was hospitalised on 25th December 1917 suffering from an injury to his right hand and Pyrexia.

Reginald was invalided to the UK on 15th January 1918 and joined the Hawke Battalion on 25th August 1918 only to be hospitalised again on 26th September 1918 with foot problems.

He rejoined the Hawke Battalion on 1st October 1918 and was badly wounded on 8th October 1918. He died from the effects of a gun shot wound to the right side in the 49th Casualty Clearing Station on the same day.
