The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 23/12/1920 reports:
Military Funeral at Rothbury.
The funeral of the late Thos. W. Dixon, of Addycombe Cottages, Rothbury, took place at Rothbury on Tuesday. Deceased was attached to the Cameron Highland Regiment during the war, and died suddenly in Newcastle Military Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment. There was a large attendance at the funeral.
The cortege was headed by the Rothbury Pipe Band, followed by a contingent of ex-servicemen and members of the local branch of the Comrades of the Great War under Captains R. Watson, E.J. Clarkson and R. Twibell; Lieuts. F. Ridley, J. Mowitt and J. Walker. Also a large company of members of the Friendly Society of Oddfellows, of which deceased was a member. The service in the church was conducted by the rector, Canon W.G. Edwards-Rees, who also recited the committal prayers at the graveside, after which the “Last Post” was sounded by Pte. R. Richardson. Deceased was only 29 years of age, and leaves a widow and three children.
