Ord, K., LAC., 1939-45 (1946)
LAC K Ord was part of Class SE-42-C, based at the Southern Aviation School, Woodward Airport, Camden, South Carolina. He is mentioned in the book ‘The Arnold Scheme - British Pilots, the American South and the Allies’ Daring Plan, by Gilbert S Guinn: ‘In the style of the ancients, twenty-one-year-old LAC Kenneth Ord of SE-42-C, a geography graduate of Sheffield University, produced a clever and amusing ‘parable’. In language reminiscent of the King James version of the Bible, he described the advent of war and detailed a few of the problems of adjusting to army air corps primary flying training. Travel from small-town Camden to the city of Columbia, South Carolina, the state capital, and its Jefferson Hotel is typical of similar travels from other small towns to the nearest cities.’The Arnold Scheme - British Pilots, the American South and the Allies Daring Plan, by Gilbert S Guinn, page 89
