Inglis, W., A/Smn., 1918
On the Pozieres Memorial is the name of R/4631 Able Seaman Walter Inglis, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 09/04/1918.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Walter was born on 24th May 1895 and was an Army Reservist living with his mother Isabella at Kiln Cottage, Alnwick Moor, Northumberland when he joined the Anson Battalion on 21st November 1917.

He was hospitalised on 27th December 1917 with a foot injury. Walter rejoined the Anson Battalion on 4th February 1918 and was posted as missing assumed killed in action on 9th April 1918.

Walter Inglis is remembered in Alnwick on A11.01, A11.03, A11.09 and A11.23
