Stevenson, A., Capt., 1916
In Bouzincourt Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of Captain Alan Stevenson, serving with the 13th Battalion attached 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment), who died 26/09/1916.

Morpeth Herald 13/10/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Captain Alan Stevenson, of the Sherwood Foresters, has been killed in action. He was a classical master in the Duke of Northumberland’s School at Alnwick prior to the outbreak of the war. Captain Stevenson was about 30 years of age.
