William Cowan aged 56 Years. Private No 9591. 3rd Battalion, Durham Light Infantry employed as a Plater's Helper, lodging at No 18 Caledonia Street, Walker. Home address No 34 Barncraig Street, Denbeath, Fifeshire, Scotland, died in Walker Accident Hospital at 2am on Sunday 8th July 1917.

Deceased died from General Septicaemia set up by a steel plate having accidentally slipped and fallen on his right foot and injuring his foot at Messrs Armstrong Whitworths and Coy Naval Yard Walker on Friday 4th Meay [sic] 1917.
