Grey, E.I., Lieut. married 1916
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 6/1/1916 reports the wedding of Lieutenant Eric I. Grey, R.F.A. and Miss Dorothy Wardroper.

He was the third son of the late Mr. George Grey and Mrs. Grey of Milfield, Northumberland. The bride was the third daughter of Rev. A.S. and Mrs. Wardroper of the Vicarage, Walker.

The bride was given away by her brother Captain Wardroper, of 5th Northumberland Fusiliers.

The best man was Lieutenant Edward C. Blake, of the Northumberland Hussars. Captain H. Reader, serving with the Royal Garrison Artillery, was groomsman.

The bride's father, Rev. A.S. Wardroper, was vicar at Walker throughout the Great War. He became the Vicar of Longhirst, but because of his connection with the church was invited to dedicate the memorial to the 5th N.F. at Walker.
