In Walker (Christ Church) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 4036188 Corporal Joseph Rooney, serving with the Gloucestershire Regiment who died 05/05/1941.

The broken headstone reads:

In loving
memory of
Cpl. J. Rooney
died for his country
May 5 1941, age 24.
Sadly missed by
Mr. & Mrs. Cowern &
family, Wolverhampton.

There is also a temporary CWGC headstone while the other is being repaired.
