Angus, W.G., Lieut., 1901
Lieut. William Gordon Angus, 19th Co. Imperial Yeomanry, was killed in action with Colonel Pilcher's column on June 3rd 1901. He was the second son of Colonel William Mathwin Angus of Framlington House, commanding 1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Volunteer Artillery, was twenty years of age and educated at Rugby. He joined the Imperial Yeomanry in February 1901 from the 1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Volunteer Artillery: and when killed was in charge of a flanking party which was suddenly attacked. Colonel Pilcher wrote "deploring the loss" of Lieut. Angus.
