In Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 33351 Private John Conway, serving with 14th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 04/10/1917.

John was born in Newcastle, the son of Isabella of 55 Clarence Street, Newcastle.

He enlisted at Newcastle upon Tyne, initially with 25th Battalion before a transfer to 12th/13th Battalion and then finally the 14th Battalion.
