In Forest Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 202759 Private John George Armstrong, serving with the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) who died 24/10/1918.

Ran Carson has provided the following:

John George was born in the first quarter of 1898 at Newcastle upon Tyne, the son of Archibald and Elizabeth Ann (nee Barkley) of 86 Canada Street, Shieldfield, Newcastle.

John served with the 1st Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) and died on 20 October 1918, aged 20.

He is remembered in Newcastle on NUT041
