Geoffrey Blackbourn was born in Newcastle upon Tyne on 1st January 1921. His birth name is registered as "Jeffrey". His father was Percival, who was born 21st December 1889, was a branch manager at a lubricating oil refinery. His mother, Olive E, was born 4th November 1897.
He was educated at Newcastle Royal Grammar School.
Geoffrey married Veronica Seabrook in Surrey in the first quarter of 1943.
There was no probate after his death.
Geoffrey played cricket for the Northumberland Cricket Club. In 1942-3 he played four one-day matches; his highest score was 27. Although his name is on the South Northumberland Memorial, I could not find him playing for them.
He did play in the Northumberland Wartime League for a local RAF XI. They played on the ground at Clara Vale.
Geoffrey Robert Percival Blackbourn is remembered in Gosforth on G9.17 and G9.40
