Slight, J.C., Major, D.S.O., 1939-45
John Campbell Slight served with the 9th Durham Light Infantry.

John Campbell Slight was 2nd In Command of the 9th Battalion and was captured in North Africa near Matruh in the same action that won Private Wakenshaw the V.C. He was discharged as Major.

John Campbell Slight is remembered in Newcastle on NUT255 page 2 and in Bywell on B114.04
