Coroner's report No. 216. 17th April 1916.

"John Sheldon aged 52 years. Pte. No. 16413, 3rd Battalion South Stafford Regiment, Backworth or 7 Square Street, Wakefield Road, Bradford. Yorks. Died in a Corridor at the Military Hospital, Brighton Grove at 7.45am on Monday 17th April 1916.

Deceased died from injuries self inflicted by cutting his throat with a razor, whilst in a depressed state of mind and nervous condition the result of a heavy drinking bout."
