Coroner's Report No. 50, 24th January 1916.

"Private James Gourley aged 26 years. Machineman, Pte 6th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers No 27 Carlton Street. Found shot as his residence at 1.15am on 24th.Deceased was found dead in bed at his residence having shot himself with a revolver whilst in a depressed state of mind."
