In Skew Bridge Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Tyneside Z/4228 Able Seaman Albert Edward Edgar, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 06/12/1915.

Colin Boyd has submitted the following:

Albert was born on 31st December 1896 and was working as a despatch clerk, living at 6, Barrack Road, Newcastle upon Tyne when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 21st April 1915. His next of kin was his father, Edward, living at 19, Hamilton Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. Albert joined the Nelson Battalion in Gallipoli on 21st September 1915 and died from the effects of a shrapnel wound to the abdomen in 1st (RN) Field Ambulance on 6th December 1915.
