In Newcastle upon Tyne (St.Nicholas) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:
Erected
to the memory of
Rifleman Charles Frederick Reed
1/8 City of London Regiment
the beloved son of
C, and Hannah Reed
who died of wounds 11th July 1917
and was interred at Bailleul Cemetery, France
aged 21 years
And to his mother
Hannah Reed
died 11th December 1952
aged 85 years.
