In Newcastle upon Tyne (St.Nicholas) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:
In
loving memory of
my dear husband
John Pickering
who entered into rest 6th April 1932
aged 80 years.
Also of his son
John Cecil Pickering
L/C 24th Royal Fusiliers
killed in action in France
13th November 1918, aged 22 years.
Also of his wife
Cecilia Barr Pickering
who died 14th April 1943
aged 82 years.
And his daughter
Elizabeth Storey Pickering
died 6th April 1954 aged 66 years
And with the morn those angels faces smile
Which I have dearly loved and lost awhile.
