F/Sgt. Kennedy serving with 620 Squadron. He was a crew member of Stirling IV LJ 880 which took part in a glider training exercise. On the return flight, another aircraft, EF244 broke away from the formation and then tried to rejoin but failed to keep a good lookout and crashed into the LJ288 400 feet above Kempsford killing all members of both aircraft.
