On the Giavera Memorial is the name of Lieutenant Thomas Beattie, serving with the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment) who died 27/10/1918.

In Newcastle upon Tyne (St.Nicholas) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In memory of
Richard
Beloved husband of E.J. Beattie
Died July 6th 1932, aged 66 years.
Also Thomas, their eldest son,
Killed in action in Italy Oct. 27th 1918
Aged 23½ years.
Also of the above Elizabeth Jane Beattie
Who died December 27th 1940 aged 77 years
Thy will be done.

He is remembered in Benwell on B86.02 and B86.19
