In Newcastle upon Tyne (All Saints) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 985279 Sergeant Alfred Pybus, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 29/01/1944.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Alfred
Sgt. Flt. Engr.
Dearly beloved & only son of
Alfred & Margaret Pybus
died in operations over Berlin
20th January 1944 aged 27 years.

He is remembered in Jesmond on J1.13
