Flight Sgt Marsh was aboard Short Stirling IV LJ843 of 196 Squadron, which crashed after being hit by flak on a re-supply mission in support of Operation Market Garden. The Stirling crashed at 15.15 at Renkum, with the loss of the eight crew.
