M. Mauboussin was a French teacher at Rutherford College from 1908-1914.
At the top the handwriting states that he was now in the Infantry, but the inscription has been cut short. At the bottom it is addressed “To the Staff and Boys of Rutherford in remembrance of 1914. V. Mauboussin."
The College Roll of Honour says that he was an adjutant in the 303rd French Infantry. He was killed in 1915.
