Son of William and Ellen Douglas McKittrick, of Newcastle-on-Tyne; husband of Winifred Elizabeth McKittrick, of Denton Burn, Newcastle-on-Tyne.

William worked in the Grocery department at the Co-op in Newgate Street, Newcastle. He left a widow and three children. In 2016, his widow, now aged 104, attended the rededication of the memorial in the Co-op which had now been converted into a Premier Inn.

William McKittrick is remembered in Newcastle on NUT153 and at Monkwearmouth in the M46.02 page 77.
