6th April 1916

Coroner's Report No. 195. 8th April 1916:

"James Forester Menzies aged 46 years. Joiner and Pte. 3/6th Northumberland Fusiliers Morpeth or 164 Canning Street, Benwell or Lochton Farm Inchture, Perthshire. Died in 1st Northern General Hospital at 2.30pm on 6th.Deceased died from fracture of the skull, and septic Meningitis set up by his having been accidentally knocked down by a tram-car on Elswick Road on Monday 3rd April about 9.30pm."

He is remembered at Elswick on E35.10
