11th September 1915

He resided at 3 Trafalgar Street, Consett and had enlisted in the 23rd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Scottish).

He died in the Royal Victoria Infirmary at 3.10 p.m. on the 11th September 1915.

The Coroner's report 13/09/1915 number 409 quotes: "Deceased died from injuries to his throat self inflicted whilst in a state of temporary insanity."

He is remembered in Consett on C101.01
