De Lacey, J.M., 2nd Lieut., 1917
In Harlebeke New British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2nd Lieutenant John Matthew de Lacey, serving with the Royal Flying Corps who died 23/09/1917.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Second Lieut. de Lacey was killed when DH.4 A7643 of 57 Squadron was shot down by Werner Voss (his 48th victory), the aircraft crashing just south of Roulers, killing the Australian pilot 2nd Lt. Samuel Leslie John Bramley and his observer, 2nd Lt. de Lacey.

Margaret Allison states that his mother lived in North Seaton.

John Matthew de Lacey is remembered on NUT066 and in Ashington on A17.43
