In Newcastle-upon-Tyne (St.Andrew’s and Jesmond) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 975 Private Ernest Wright serving with the 1st Northern Cyclist Battalion who died 30/07/1915.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Isabella Wright
the dearly beloved wife of
Joseph John Wright
who died January 4th 1906
aged 49 years.
Also of Ernest Wright
youngest son of the above
drowned July 30th 1915
while serving his country
aged 22 years.
Also of the above
Joseph John Wright
who died September 2nd 1922
aged 76 years.

He is remembered in Jesmond on J1.35
