In Newcastle-upon-Tyne (St.Andrew’s and Jesmond) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Lieutenant Alexander Wald M.C., serving with the 36th Squadron Royal Air Force who died 11/08/1918.

The headstone reads:

Of Largs Bay South Australia
Killed at Ashington Aerodrome
11th August 1918 aged 25.
