In Newcastle upon Tyne (St.Andrew’s and Jesmond) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 754728 Sergeant (Pilot) Joseph Pearson Morrison serving with the 46 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 22/10/1940.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of our dear son
Sgt. Pilot Joseph P. Morrison, R.A.F.
killed in action 22 Oct. 1940 aged 25 yeats.
"Per ardua ad astra".
Also my dear wife
Mabel Morrison
Died 3 Nov. 1940 aged 55 years
Also Joseph Morrison
Died 31 Dec. 1952 aged 64 years.

He is remembered in a R.A.F. Roll of Honour
