In Newcastle (St.Andrew’s and Jesmond) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 61793 Serjeant Victor James Duffy serving with the 3rd Division Ammunition Column Royal Field Artillery who died 19/11/1919.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Victor James Duffy
Sergt. R.F.A.
who was called to
a higher life
Novr. 19th 1919 aged 30 years.
And there shall be no more
Death neither sorrow nor crying.
