Deuchar, A.G., Capt., 1917

In Newcastle (St.Andrew’s and Jesmond Cemetery) is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Captain A.G. Deuchar serving with the Royal Flying Corps and Northern Cyclist Battalion who died 22/11/1917.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Alexander Deuchar
Beloved husband of
Edith Deuchar
Who died August 6th 1913
Aged 67 years.
Edith, his wife, Oct. 11th 1935
Hollie wife of Colin Deuchar
Died 23rd Sept. 1945
Capt. A. Guthrie Deuchar, N.C. & R.F.C.
Their eldest son
Accidentally killed whilst flying at Salisbury
Augt. 22nd 1917 aged 24 years.

He is remembered in Jesmond on J1.06 and J1.35
