Gibson, J., L/Cpl., 1918
On the Arras Memorial is the name of 28190 Lance Corporal James Gibson, 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 29/03/1918.

James was born in 1893 to James and Mary Gibson. He had two younger sisters, Emma Sarah Wilson Gibson and Winnifred Gibson.

He married Isabella May Gibson, who previously lived at 40 Albemarle Avenue, High West Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne.

James was announced missing near Wancourt on the 8th March 1918. He was presumed dead in France and Flanders. His date of death is officially given as 29th March 1918 aged 25.

He resided at 74 Norfolk Road, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne (place of residence as entered in the 1901 Census).

James Gibson is remembered in Durham on D47.151 and in Newcastle on NUT063
