John McFarlane Charlton
Capt. 21st Northumberland Fusiliers
(2nd Tyneside Scottish)
near La Boiselle, 1st July 1916
his 25th birthday.
Sons and only children of
John and Kate J.M. Charlton

They were the sons of John Charlton, R.A., the north-east painter who was also a war painter for the South African war.

Both brothers are remembered in Durham on D47.151 and in Newcastle on NUT063
