W.G. Johnson
Yorkshire Regiment
5th February 1917 age 19

Safe upon the shining shore
pain and death
and sorrow o'er.

Coroner's report No. 72 dated 6th February 1917:

George William Johnson aged 23 years. No 9674 Lance Corporal 8th Yorks Regiment Richmond. No 151 Lord Street, Hodderston, [sic} Herdford [sic}, Died in 1st Northern General Hospital on 5th Febry 1917.

After enquiries the Deputy Coroner granted a Certificate. No inquest necessary.

Note CWGC give his initials as W.G., his rank as Private and his age as 19.
