In Newcastle upon Tyne (Byker and Heaton) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 6764 Private William H. Burke, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 07/12/1916.

The headstone reads:

Here rest the remains of
William H. Burke, B.A.
Beloved only son of
W. and F. Burke
who died Decr. 7th 1916 aged 21 years
from wounds received in France.
"Ultra mortem est vita".
"Adieu jusqu' au revoir".

Also of William Father of the above
who died March 9th ?1929, aged ?75 years.R.I.P.

"Ultra mortem est vita" translates as "There is life beyond death"
"Adieu jusqu' au revoir" translates as "Goodbye until we meet again".
