Walker, R.B., Sgt., 1944.
In Budapest War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1553488 Sergeant (Wireless Operator) Robert Bruce Walker, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 08/08/1944.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Walker was killed when Consolidated Liberator VI KG887 of 178 Squadron was lost on a mission to attack Szombathely Airfield. The Liberator crashed near the village of Pornóapáti, Hungary, with the loss of five of the seven crew members - the two survivors were made P.o.W.

Also killed in the same incident were Sgt. G.G. Wardle /a> and F/Off. W. Fairney

Robert Bruce Walker is remembered in Heaton on H91.06
