In Newcastle upon Tyne (Byker and Heaton) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 24/19 Private James Fitzgerald, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 22/01/1915.

Central Police Station Coroner's report No. 53, dated 25/01/1915.

"James Fitzgerald, 45 years of age, Private, Tyneside Irish, Raby Street Council School. Died at his Billet at 6.30am on the 23rd.

After enquiries the Coroner granted a Certificate. No inquest needed."
