Robert was the son of Mary Ann and the late John George Bulman. He was husband of Rose, 91 Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne.
He enlisted on 27th May 1915. He was admitted to hospital on 1st July 1916 and transferred to a casualty clearance hospital on 2nd July.
He was discharged from the army on 18th February 1917 suffering from wounds and was awarded the Silver War Badge.
