Henry Bertelsen

Henry was a stoker on board DS Lysland and served in the Norwegian Merchant Navy. He lived at the time in Newcastle upon Tyne. His ship entered the English North East Coast Convoy in 1942 and was damaged by a German E-boat in the Hearty Channel off Cromer. The ship was taken into Immingham for repair and later took part in the D-Day assault. It was sold to the Italians in 1960.
